As a Design Engineer at Tellart, Matt is actively involved in the ideation and development processes for physical and digital prototypes, with a focus on creative technology implementation. Matt’s multidisciplinary background helps him naturally balance user-centered design with an acute awareness of technical constraints. His activities at Tellart vary as each challenge dictates – his work has involved everything from sensory applications of infrared light, to analog and digital circuitry, to projection-based public installations, as well as software development across several programming environments and languages.
Before joining Tellart, Matt completed a Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology at Sarah Lawrence College. While there he worked as a research assistant focused primarily on small arms proliferation in Africa. Matt also has a Bachelor’s degree in Operations Research from Columbia University, where he concentrated on entrepreneurship, financial engineering, and game theory.
Outside of his work with Tellart, Matt is interested in audio-driven generative light installations as well as new applications of mobile-based web technologies in facilitating interactive experiences amongst crowds.
